Unattended Macroing Policy
The Unattended Macroing (UM) policy of our shard is as follows:
- UM for skill gain is always permitted.
- UM for gold farming or resource gathering is not permitted.
- UM while buying resources from faction vendors is not permitted.
- Sitting AFK in a Order/Chaos warzone is not permitted.
However, the consequences for getting caught macroing unattended are not severe. While EA bans and cancels accounts, we’re much more liberal. That isn’t an excuse to abuse our leniency, however.
The following actions are permitted to our staff:
- Intentionally breaking your script by messing with the environment.
- Adding items to your backpack to cause your character to become overweight.
- Moving your character to a neutral spot such as the Delucia UM pen.
- Placing your character in jail, requiring a staff visit for release (rare).
- Animals or resources required by your script may be hidden, moved, or become inaccessible.
- Your client may be disconnected (kicked).
- In the case of repeat offenses, your account may receive a short ban, with durations increasing per incident. If you get to this point, you should probably stop ignoring our “subtle hints” that you shouldn’t be doing what you’re doing.
What staff may NOT and will NOT do:
- Delete items in your pack or on your character.
- Intentionally kill your character using a staff command.
- Spawn monsters not natural to an area or in greater than natural quantities in order to kill your character. This means we CAN spawn things that spawn naturally in the general area (say, within 500 tiles for example).
- Use staff-obtained information to inform others of your location. In fact, we will never do this in any situation.
General procedure we follow (not set in stone, but a general guideline):
- AFK check
- Failed AFK checks lead to:
- 100 stone rock placed in your pack, expires after 1 day.
- 200 stone or greater rock, expires after 7 days.
- Character jailed, must page to be released.
- 24 hour ban
- 48 hour ban
- 72 hour ban
- Permanent ban
Ultimately, actions to be taken are up to the staff and the severity of the act / player behavior when confronted.
Please keep in mind that these rules are in place for the good of the shard, to keep the economy in check and make the game more enjoyable for everyone. If you have suggestions on how to modify existing systems so that macroing them (which is a result of poor design) is no longer necessary, please get in touch with us, we’d love to hear them.
